16" (41 cm.) Bisque shoulder head,cobalt blue glass eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,arched feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with outlined lips,unpierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French kid poupee body with stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French,circa 1865. Value Points: the doll is wearing her original traditional costume from Pyrenees region of France including red woolen petticoat to match hooden capulet over coiffe,tulle apron,paisley shawl,skirt gathered and clasped at the back to protect from dust of roads,distinctive heavy leggings ("guetres") flared over the tops of high- pointed toe sabots.
