19" (48 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and lightly feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, outlined lips, light brown mohair wig over cork pate, metal armature body with padded stockinette cover from original depose by Gesland allowing the doll infinite articulation, bisque hands and lower legs with bare feet, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 4 (head) F.G. (shoulderplate). Comments: Gaultier with original deposed body by Gesland, circa 1870. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque and painting, rare body with especially fine sculpting of hands and feet.
