11" (28 cm.) Paper mache head with narrow enamel eyes,gofum finish with amber tinted
complexion,painted wide flared brows,moustache,goatee and shaped beard,painted hair under
silk floss wig with topknot,firm body posed seated with crossed ankles,and covered with original
very elaborate costume,including gilt metal wrap on right arm and ankles,painted
gloves,headdress,and with sword,and along an additional larger sword. Condition: generally
excellent. Comments: Japan,early 20th century. Value Points: superb detail of facial painting and
costume.
