Thick wax shoulder plate over very thin form of papier-mache or cloth,depicting a slender-faced lady with elongated throat,grey glass inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted curly lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with center accent line,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,original muslin commercial body with wax forearms,original undergarments. Condition: good,some dustiness to hair. Comments: Germany,circa 1870,the popular Princess Alexandra inspired a certain "look" in fashion which was emulated in fashion dolls of the era,this being an example; the dolls were known as "staatdamen" or high society ladies. Value Points: refined presence,original wig,antique jewelry,modeled bosom,original undergarments and silk heels.
