Description
7" (18 cm.) Standing upon a carton candy box is a heavy paper mache figure of a young man with sculpted costume and top hat, holding a peddler's sack of wares slung over his shoulders and a top hat in his hand. His head is spring-attached, designed to "nod" when lightly tipped and a label around the candy box base advertises his wares "Vieux chapeaux! Vieux habits!" (Old hats! Old clothes!). French, circa 1850, rare amusing candy box with nodding head.
