Description
15" (38 cm.) Solid domed papier-mache shoulder head with black painted hair under original
human hair attached to center slit,round childlike face,black enamel eyes,painted features,all-
around lashes,brows,closed mouth with shy smile,muslin torso,upper arms,legs with stitch-
joining at hips and knees,papier-mache arms and hands to above the elbows. Condition: very
good,some rubs on original cheek finish,one small reglue at bottom right corners of shoulder
plate. Comments: Germany,maker unknown,circa 1830. Value Points: very rare child model from
this era,with original wig,enamel eyes,original body and wonderful early costume that (excepting
skirt) is entirely original. The doll is featured on a full page of German Papier-Mache Dolls by
