15" (38 cm.) Pale bisque swivel head with plump face on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,grey enamel inset eyes with spiral threading,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth in slightly-smiling expression,accent line between the lips,ears pierced into head,kid poupee body with square cut collarette,gusset-jointing at hips and knees,curved kid arms to below the elbow,bisque lower arms and hands with well-defined fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: E. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1867,the first period version of his letter-series smiling poupee.
