Description
8" (20 cm.) excluding hat. The wax man has tiny bead eyes,painted features,white hair,wooden
torso,cloth-wrapped upper arms and legs,wooden lower arms and legs with painted white
stockings and orange boots,on original wooden stand. Condition: generally excellent.
Comments: Germany,early 19th century. Value Points: wearing fine embroidered silk,cape and
head-dress with silver metallic edging. Along with a French candy box,with engraving of nun
comforting a woman,an early easel-back cabinet shrine with interior medallion of Notre Dame de
Lechet,gold-leaf accented figure of Madonna and Child,and a carved bone altar piece,all
early/mid 1800s.
