7 1/2" (19 cm.) Peeking from the tightly-wrapped bunting are two wax baby heads with blue
glass eyes and highly-characterized expressions,blonde mohair wigs; the swaddling wrap is
firm-sided to form a container,and is covered with heavy stock paper having an impressed
quilted pattern,with net and silk ribbon trim; the bottom unfolds for use as a candy container.
Condition: very good,some dustiness,some light dings on wax. Comments: for the French
market,late 19th century,the luxury candy containers were presented to gifts at Christening
events. Value Points: charming childhood ephemera of the era.
