Description
11" (28 cm.) x 11" x 10". The two wooden walls and platform floor are covered with highly decorative papers and trim in a replica of a bedroom of the Palazzo Segredo archived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The room contains windows,mirrors,corner panels,faux-painted floors,columns and cornices and is surmounted metal cherubs,and furnished with an ornate bed with fancy gilt metal headboard,chairs,settee and secretary desk with Watteau-style decorations. The miniature room was constructed and furnished by Estelle Johnston,and depicted an early 18th century bedroom from Palazzo Segrudo of Venice.
