Description
11" (28 cm.) Solid domed papier-mache shoulder head,painted facial features,blue eyes,black
eyeliner and brows,tiny closed mouth,firm (wooden?) torso,padded cloth upper arms and
legs,wooden hands with sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Germany,circa 1860. Value Points: the doll wears original coral silk costume with applied
embossed gilt paper designed to appear as though armor,with matching cap having an
adornment of brass bells and gold slippers. Attached strings indicate the doll was meant to be
used in play as a dancing doll.
