22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head with deeply-defined facial features and ebony black complexion,dark brown glass sleep eyes,painted black lashes,slightly-modeled brush-stroked brows,nicely-shaped nose with little rounded point,accented nostrils,open mouth with very full shaded coral lips,six porcelain teeth,pierced ears,black curly mohair wig,black composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1358 Germany Simon & Halbig S&H 9. Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa 1910,the model was used for this portrayal of gentle- faced black child only. Value Points: very rare model made notable for its flawless black bisque complexion enhanced by deeply-modeled features,and beautiful painting especially of lips,with fine antique costume and holding antique cloth doll.
