7" (18 cm.) and 9". Each has papier-mache head with gofum finish,white complexion with enamel
inset eyes,painted features,one with mouth modeled open and with tiny teeth,black human hair
inserted into slits of scalp,the head dowel-attached to firm armature body with carved wooden
hands. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Japan,early 20th century. Value Points:
depicting seated and kneeling dolls,appearing as though children,each wearing original multi-
layered silk costume,presented on wooden base under dome.
