Description
11" (28 cm.) Rosy-tinted poured wax figure of lady with turned head,posed arms,painted eyes
appeared as though inset enamel,detailed painting of facial features,brunette silk or floss wig in
elaborately braided coiffure with attached turban,all wax body. Condition: very good/excellent.
Comments: Mid-1800s,a series of wax and papier-mache peddler dolls,including moustached
men,were presented at this time,likely representing persons from Turkish bazaar. Value Points:
beautifully-designed hair,the doll is wearing her original costume and offers an assortment of
miniature baskets.
