Description
5 1/2" (14 cm.) and 7". Each has poured wax shoulderhead,tiny bead eyes,painted hair and facial features,firm cloth torso and upper limbs,wax lower limbs. Including a lady with stylized hair in the so-called Queen Victoria style,wearing original net gown with lace cap,earrings,apron with silk-edged tulle border,undergarments,and having bare feet; and boy with painted blonde hair wearing original costume whose velvet jacket has hand-made rick-rack edging,pants,shirt and woven straw cap,painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: early/mid 19th century. Value Points: rare early miniature dolls in wonderfully-preserved condition.
