Description
12" (30 cm.) Each is all-bisque figure depicting a young boy or girl seated on a bench,a bowl of sudsy water at their side,and their hands and mouth posed as though about to blow bubbles. Each has elaborately-sculpted tousled curly hair,he with intaglio downcast eyes,and she with side-glancing intaglio eyes as though watching the (imaginary) bubbles float away,each with richly-draped sculpted costume decorated with ruffles and applique and having gilt-accents. Overall excellent,boy has two restored fingers and thumb. Germany,Gebruder Heubach,circa 1910,the exceptional quality of sculpting and painting extend around all sides of the models which are especially rare to find as the matched pair.
