Description
17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of adult lady with elongated throat,light brown sculpted
hair with large braided coronet decorated by a black and gilt painted comb,painted bright blue
eyes,black and red upper eyeliner,single stroke brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with
center accent line,fully-sculpted pierced ears,very elaborate sculpted and painted bodice with
rolled collar lined with bisque ruffles,additional pink bisque ruffles under the collar at the
back,elaborately-painted details of "embroidery" at the front and an attached bisque bow to
match the comb. Condition: generally excellent,minor repair to front bow,both arms repaired.
Marks: 5 A 5. Comments: attributed to Kling,circa 1870. Value Points: from an extremely rare
series of Kling bisque ladies,the doll has an exceptional level of artistry and decoration,and
maker's insignia.
