26" (66 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump facial modeling,brown glass paperweight inset
eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve-blushed eye shadow,feathered brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with suggestion of teeth between the accented
lips,pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully-
jointed body with plump limbs,straight wrists,lovely antique silk and coral velvet
costume,undergarments,silk bonnet,shoes. Condition: generally excellent,body is not original
but is appropriately sized and of the same era. Marks: 12 J (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris
(body). Comments: Joseph Louis Joanny,circa 1882,the firm was located at the prestigious Rue
de Rivoli,and created small numbers of prestige bebes each year,each with this distinctive
facial modeling. Value Points: rare model in fine larger size with finest quality of bisque and
painting.
