14" (36 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head with very plump cheeks and chin,on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades,brilliant blue glass enamel
inset eyes with spiral threading,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve-blushed eye
shadow,lightly-feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with
shaded and outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,original kid gusset-
jointed bebe body with square-cut collarette,bisque lower arms with sculpted fingers,lovely
antique costume. Condition: generally excellent except restoration to three fingers of right
hand. Marks: 2/0 (head) Bebe Brevete SGDG Paris (paper label on torso). Comments: Leon
Casimir Bru,circa 1878,his first bebe model. Value Points: an especially beautiful model of the
early bebe has gorgeous eyes,fine ivory-like complexion with subtle blushing that enhances
the deeply-sculpted features,original signed body,carries antique bone rattle.
