15" (38 cm.) paper mache shoulder head with black painted pate and feathered detail of hair
around her face,black enamel eyes,painted features,open mouth,two rows of tiny teeth,shapely
kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees,stitched and separated fingers,wearing
antique undergarments,apron,stockings,leather slippers. Condition: very good,two light
craquelure lines on shoulder plate,original finish well-preserved,very sturdy body. Comments:
French,circa 1850. Value Points: the early poupee,preceding the bisque and porcelain models,has
finely made hand-stitched body and embroidered costume elements.
