Description
29" (74 cm.) l. x 17"h. x 14"d. The wooden store features an open front flanked by two glass
display windows that are ornamented with fancily-spindled columns,and side walls that angle
outward for a feeling of spaciousness. The back wall has 12 spice drawers with original
porcelain labels,a center display niche with mirrored back,and display niche at each end.
There is a shelf above the back wall cabinets and a hanging shelf at one side; the other side
features wooden wainscoting. A matching free-standing counter centers the store and there is
original wall and floor paper throughout,as well as original exterior paint simulating
stonework. The store contains a bounty of groceries,teas,a collection of miniature steins,trays
of pastries,scale,rare figural gas lamp,three wooden dolls,and,curiously,hat stands with
bonnets as though a milliner shop. Excellent condition. Germany,late-19th century.
