6 1/2" (17 cm.) Solid domed poured wax shoulder head with painted brown hair having feathered curls around her forehead,tiny blue glass bead eyes,painted features,muslin body,poured wax lower limbs,painted stockings and flat black ankle boots with red lacing,with original undergarment and skirt. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: English,circa 1850,the doll is shown in Ackerman's Dolls in Miniature,page 57. Value Points: rare size with beautifully-painted hair,original body with rare painted shoes. Included is an early wooden cradle with original painted decorations.
