3" (8 cm.) -5". Each has bisque or china shoulder head with sculpted short brown,black or blonde hair in boyish fashion,painted facial features,muslin body,bisque lower limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1860s. Value Points: two with rare brown sculpted hair,each with original elaborately-detailed costumes,and presented in early glass-fronted presentation box. The dolls are shown and described "each is delicately fashioned to indicate his youthful attributes and handsome countenance" in Dolls in Miniature by Evelyn Ackerman,page 97.
