Description
18" (46 cm.) l. 13"d. x 12"h. A firm-sided wooden box with decorative (faded) paper
covers,forms into the floor of a five-sided room box; the room can be stored,when
folded,neatly inside the box. The walls of the room have original papers with gilt beaded
edging and there are glass windows at each side angle that are lavishly-covered with magenta
silk draperies edged with self-ruffles,and having self silk ties,and lace inserts. Ornate ormolu
mirrors are hung on the three other walls,and the room is furnished originally with silk
upholstery and trim to match the draperies,including fireplace,piano,piano
stool,fernery,settee,turtle-top pedestal table,and four chairs. An ornate ormolu clock with
figural design sits on the mantel. Excellent unplayed with condition with vibrant colors and
original finishes,so very rare to find in this condition. French,circa 1880.
