Description
4 1/2" (11 cm.) Each of the dolls has a bisque shoulder head with blonde sculpted short curls,painted facial features,muslin body,bisque lower arms and legs,painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1865,included is a set of lithographed-paper- over-wood doll house furnishing with original upholstery. Value Points: an exceptional pair of miniature dolls,each wearing its elaborate original costume trimmed with gold beading,paper edging,tinsel and lace. The dolls are shown in Evelyn Ackerman's Dolls in Miniature,page 82,described as "ornate confection".
