Carved wooden doll depicting woman with downcast head,carved brown hair in long tendrils onto her shoulders,inset enamel eyes,painted lashes and brows,aquiline nose,closed mouth,fixed arms with bent right elbow,little fruit held in right hand,and original carved wooden baby held in left arm,dowel-jointed hips and knees,painted blue torso. Condition: generally excellent,original painted finish,original hole at crown of each suggest possible original halo or coronet. Comments: Santos figure,Southern France or Italy,early-19th century. Value Points: wonderful size,especially fine carving and painting of the pair.
