Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 10 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, the very first issue of his signature bebe, prior to the identical bebe with EJ.A. markings, circa 1879; the bebe is discussed in The Jumeau Book by Theimer and Theriault, page 302,with historical reference to this model being sold at double the price of other Jumeau bebes in an 1879 Paris Etrennes catalog, thus indicating its deluxe nature. Value Points: an exceptionally beautiful example of the rare model with superb modeling, lovely pale bisque with subtle blushing, original body and body finish, wonderful antique costume that may be original,French leather ankle boots signed C.M.
