Description
13" (33 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flanged neck,blonde painted boyish hair with
sculpting detail,intaglio blue side-glancing eyes,white eyedots,painted eye liner and one-stroke
tapered brows,closed mouth with tiny "O" hole between the lips as though puckered for
whistling,muslin body with torso bellows that,when squeezed,causes the doll to "whistle",antique
costume,saddle shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach (in square) 8776
Germany. Comments: Gebruder Heubach,circa 1912,their model marketed as "Whistling Jim".
Value Points: rare character with wonderfully sculpted features,working whistle.
