22" (56 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head, painted blonde baby hair, blue glass sleep eyes with feathered details, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, accented nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, two porcelain upper teeth, composition bent limb baby body. Condition: generally excellent, rub on cheek complexion. Marks: Hilda c. JDK Jr. 1914 Ges Gesch 1070 made in Germany 12. Comments: Kestner, circa 1914, wearing splendid lace and embroidered tulle gown, the doll holds an antique photo of woman holding a baby wearing this very gown with notation of the back "dress first worn by Sterling Postley, baby being held by Margaret Postley" and further family details. Value Points: very fine quality of bisque and painting, original body and body finish, beautiful costume with provenance.
