27" (69 cm.) All-cloth doll with firmly-pressed and oil-painted complexion,facial features and brown hair. the hair in thick impasto-styled painting technique with curls onto the forehead,painted grey eyes with white eyedots,red and black upper eyeliner,painted long curly lashes,brown brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with very full lips,stitched-on blushed ears,cotton sateen cover on torso and upper limbs,oil-painted stitch-jointed arms and legs,separated fingers,defined nails,antique romper suit. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Chase Stockinette Doll (original paper label on back torso) (Chase logo design on left body). Comments: Martha Chase of Rhode Island,circa 1900. Value Points: rare size,wonderfully- preserved original finish,unusual details such as separated fingers,original rare paper label.
