34" (86 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,blue glass inset
eyes with spiral threading and darker iris rims,thick dark eyeliner,mauve blushed eye
shadow,feathered brows,accented eye corners and nostrils,closed mouth with outlined
lips,separately-modeled pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French kid poupee
body with shapely torso,gusset-jointing at elbows,hips and knees,separately-stitched fingers
and toes. Condition: generally excellent,body very sturdy except repair at left wrist,flake at
right ear lobe piercing. Comments: Jumeau,circa 1875,the rare model was used initially as this
portrait poupee,and evolved for a very short time into first period bebe by Jumeau. Value
Points: very rare grand size,likely designed as an exhibition model has superb
bisque,sculpting and painting,original sturdy body,wonderful antique costume.
