15" (38 cm.) All-wooden carved polychromed figure of elderly woman with very strong features, grey carved hair waved loosely from her face into a rolled curl at the back, carved parted lips, one-piece head and torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, very expressive posing of fingers, wearing early silk gown with interwoven ribbon and floral design. Condition: generally excellent. Genoese, late 1700s, possibly the workshop of Marc Antonio Poggio, the doll has exceptional carving detail of facial features, hair and hands.
