26" (66 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulder head,almond-shaped black enamel sleep
eyes,accented nostrils,closed mouth with center accent line,painted hair with delicately-shaded
brown hair with fine feathering,twill midriff with(faintly working) mama crier,twill upper arms and
legs,wooden lower arms and legs with loosely-jointed paper mache hands and feet designed to
emulate the body of an infant,very fine multi-layered baby costume. Condition: good,original
finish with craquelure on crown,forehead and legs,rubs on nose and lower cheek. Comments:
Germany,circa 1860. Value Points: rare grand-sized model with especially fine painting of hair
and features,all-original body parts.
