17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head with flat-cut neck socket on matching shoulderplate, brilliant cobalt blue glass inset eyes, very plump face, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, unpierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid-over-wooden poupee body with shapely torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, bisque forearms with cupped fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (partially legible stamp of Simonne). Comments: French, circa 1860, attributed to Blampoix, and presented in the prestige Parisian doll boutique of Simonne. Value Points: very beautiful poupee whose extra rarity factors include deposed enamel eyes, flat-cut neck socket, wooden body, bisque hands, is wearing fine antique grey linen costume with blue accents, blue velvet cap, blue kidskin boots with fancy trim, undergarments and jewelry comprising matching bracelet and locket with pearl inlays.
