27" (69 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with slightly-pink-tinted complexion,rounded-oval
face,slightly-elongated throat,deep cobalt blue glass eyes with thick black eyeliner,painted
lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with piquant smile,outlined lips,un-
pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips
and knees,porcelain arms to above the elbows,wearing lovely antique blue silk gown and
undergarments. Condition: generally excellent except three fingers missing on right hand.
Marks: (mostly illegible green stamp on torso,with SGDG indication). Comments: attributed to
Claude Blampoix,circa 1857,the very early poupee makes use of his 1855 deposed system of
glass enamel eyes. Value Points: the fine quality and grand size of the rare early poupee
suggests its creation for use as exhibition model.
