15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,large grey glass paperweight inset eyes with spiral threading,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-stroked brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde lambswool wig,plump kid body in the bebe style with gusset-jointing at hips and knees,bisque forearms. Condition: small chip at crown rim with emanating very faint hairline down the face,left hand restored. Marks: 137 9. Comments: Sonneberg,circa 1882,the model was made to emulate the early Bru bebe with nearly identical body style. Value Points: the historically important and beautiful closed mouth doll wears her factory-original French-like silk costume including silk dress,undergarments,velvet bonnet,and Bru-like leather shoes with maker's mark H. Hachmeister.
