16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,almond shaped pale blue
enamel eyes with darker blue iris rims,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,arched feathered
brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with pale accented lips posed in a
gentle smiling expression,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,kid poupee body
with square cut collarette,gusset-jointing,wooden arms with dowel-jointing at
shoulders,elbows and wrists,wearing exquisite antique silk and lace
gown,undergarments,leather shoes signed C.C. and straw bonnet known as "a deux bonjours".
Condition: generally excellent,sturdy original body with some typical paint scuffing on wooden
hands. Marks: F (head and shoulders) Depose (front crown rim). Comments: the model was
deposed by Leon Casimir Bru in 1873 which was the same year that this body,which combined
Bru's kid and wooden body styles,was also deposed. Value Points: rare model with rarer
body,and having especially fine expression of smile,fine quality of bisque,and rarer forehead
"Depose" mark.
