14" (36 cm.) All cloth doll with pressed and oil painted features,brown shaded hair in soft short
curls stitched on ears,painted brown eyes with thickly painted black lashes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded lips,stitch-jointed body with oil-painted arms
and legs,painted thigh-high blue stockings with black detailing,antique cotton dress and
undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Ella Smith's Alabama Baby,circa 1910.
Value Points: desirable small size of the early model has wonderful facial painting with original
finish that includes rich eye decoration and shaded detail of painted hair.
