22" (56 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil painted features,brown shaded hair in soft short
curls onto the forehead and at sides of head,stitched-on ears,painted cornflower-blue eyes with
thickly painted black lashes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded
lips,stitch-jointed body with oil-painted arms and legs,painted thigh-high blue stockings with
outlined shoe buttons,antique cotton dress and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: No 2 Patented September 26,1905 Mrs. S.S. Smith Manufacturer Roanoke Ala. (body
stamp). Comments: Ella Smiths Alabama Baby,circa 1910. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved
with especially artful shading of brown hair,fine rosy cheeks.
