Description
20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head with fine characterization of cheek bones and chin,almond-
shaped blue glass sleep eyes,dark eyeliner,painted curly lashes,widely-arched brush-stroked
brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, auburn mohair
wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed body,pretty antique
costume, bonnet, undergarments, shoes and socks. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 111
7. Comments: Simon and Halbig, possibly for Kammer and Reinhardt's art character series, this
being the glass-eyed version of the 111 character which was registered in 1910; as with the
112 and 114 models it was likely created in both painted eye and this sleep-eyed version.
Value Points: the extremely rare model has finest quality of bisque and painting, original body
and body finish, and compelling wistful expression.
