9" (23 cm.) Paper mache shoulder head with oval face and elongated throat,brown painted hair
pulled into a braided chignon at the back of head and decorated at the brown with applied
human hair ringlet curls and flowers,painted facial features. dark blue eyes,slender kid body with
wooden lower limbs,painted orange boots. Condition: generally excellent. Comments:
Germany,circa 1833. Value Points: the beautifully-preserved doll has rare color hair with added
ornamentation,and wears superb original costume,with ink script note on the torso "from Sophia
Pease (?) 1833".
