6" (15 cm.) Bisque waist-up figure depicts an aged woman with well-sculpted face with kindly
expression,sculpted hair under head scarf,sculpted blouse with defined pattern,posed with
fingers intertwined in front of waist,finished in sepia duo-tones for aged look. Excellent
condition. Marks: 1817 (incised) Germany (stamp). Attributed to Galluba and Hofmann,in whose
catalog the half doll was shown,with finish described as "ivory decoration in bisque". Rare model
especially in this larger size. Germany,circa 1910.
