Description
13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with three different faces is enclosed with a carton hood that attaches to composition shoulder plate,with cloth torso and upper limbs,composition lower limbs. A metal ring at the crown of the head allows the head to be turned to alternately reveal each face: a crying face with squinting intaglio eyes and closed mouth sculpted as though crying; a sleeping face with modeling shut eyes; and a laughing face with intaglio eyes,laughing expression and two beaded lower teeth. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C.B. Comments: Carl Bergner,circa 1892,the three-face doll is seldom found with the Heubach face models. Value Points: rare doll with choice bisque and sculpting,wearing beautiful antique silk costume.
