Description
19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, rose-blushed eyeshadow, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, row of painted teeth between the outlined lips, auburn mohair wig, early composition and wooden fully-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 12. Comments: Kestner, circa 1882, the model closely resembles the "circle-dot" bebe by Leon Casimir Bru whose market the doll attempted to capture. Value Points: very beautiful child doll with distinctive mouth modeling, finest bisque and painting, original body and body finish, fine antique rose silk and lace costume and bonnet.
