13" (33 cm.) The matched pair of boy and girl,each with pressed felt face with center seam and
side seams to the inset blue eyes,have pressed rounded nose,closed mouth with painted
lips,blonde fleecy mohair stitched-on wig,five piece wool body with jointing at shoulders and
hips,and each is wearing its original Steiff costume of red woolen felt,white shirts,black or red
hat. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Steiff (silver button in ear of each). Comments:
Steiff,beginning years of the 20th century. Value Points: rare to find the matched pair of
children,with early center-seam modeling,well-preserved original costumed,and holding a little
velvet early kitten with hand-painted details,possibly Steiff.
