Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,amber-brown glass paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes and brush-stroked brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette human hair over cork pate,all-wooden body with very shapely torso,rounded derriere,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,swivel wrists,and extra luxury swivel-jointing at upper arms and upper legs,lavish silk costume in the French style is included. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8. Comments: Gaultier,circa 1870. Value Points: very rare large size of the superbly- sculpted wooden body with separately-carved hands,defined toes,luxury details; the wooden- bodied poupees were offered as prestige models,and very few were ever made in this large size.
