23" (58 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and
shoulder blades,very plump cheeks and chin,almond-shaped blue glass paperweight inset
eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted dark curly lashes,mauve-blushed eye shadow,brush-stroked
and feathered brows,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig over cork pate,French kid very plump bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and
knees,curved upper arms,bisque lower arms with bisque hands,wearing ivory satin dress with
fine lace collar undergarments,leather shoes,socks,woven French bonnet. Condition: generally
excellent,left forefinger reglued on one point. Marks: Bru Jne 8 (head and shoulders).
Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,a very rare transitional model,bearing resemblance to the
earliest Brevete Bebe,yet having Bru Jne markings,circa 1882. Value Points: exquisite beauty of
the early bebe with endearing shy expression,flawless bisque with fine artistry of
painting,wonderful sculpting of hands,original body and body finish.
