Description
24" (61 cm.) Thick paste porcelain shoulder head with delicate pink-tinted complexion,having
heart-shaped face with full chin and elongated strong throat,sculpted shaded brown hair
waved away from her face into rolled curls behind her ears and forming into a coiled braid at
the back of her head,with loose curls tumbling onto her back,decorated with three various
sculpted flowers just behind each ear,pale blue painted eyes with red and black upper
eyeliner,single stroke brows,aquiline nose,closed mouth with rich lips,old muslin stitch-
jointed body,leather arms,good early costume. Condition: generally excellent,some typical
paint rubs at back of hair. Marks: S (inside shoulder plate). Comments: attributed to
Schlaggenward of Czechoslavokia,circa 1850. Value Points; very rare and fine early porcelain
lady,with rare makers signature,superb painting of hair including ?morning glory" flowers
and very fine feathering around the forehead.
