Description
25" (64 cm.) Thick-paste porcelain shoulder head with oval face and elongated strong
throat,black sculpted hair brushed away from her face with feathering detail around the
forehead,clusters of curls behind each ear which frame the tight chignon at the nape,and with a
row of beading at the crown,blue painted eyes in well-defined eye sockets,red and black upper
eyeliner,single stroke brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with very full lips,muslin stitch-
jointed body,silk gown,undergarments,old leather shoes,brooch. Condition: faint old hairline at
the back shoulders,otherwise excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1870. Value Points: especially
fine sculpting particularly of eye and mouth definition,rare coiffure.
