10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head with long-faced modeling,bright blue glass paperweight inset eyes,painted lashes,brush-stroked brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with center accent line,pierced ears,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body,wearing original maroon silk and lace dress,woven bonnet,undergarments,leather boots marked J.J. with little emblems. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F.R. 5. Comments: Falck-Roussel,who registered his Bebe Mignon in 1885,the bebe having a distinctive facial model,circa 1885. Value Points: examples of the bebe model are rarely found,this petite example particularly charming; the actual doll is photographed in The Encyclopedia of French Dolls by Theimer,page 211.
